Well, I think it's over... was created by Alex_KZ1K
So, I've been having carburation problems for the past couple of days. I tried making some adjustments to the pilot screws, and now it takes forever to start, it pops really loud from the exhaust, and I'm blowing liquid engine oil out my #1 exhaust pipe somehow. I think it's time is up...

Pull your #1 and #2 plugs and have a look at piston crowns with a flashlight and mirror. You've likely got no compression in one of them.
I find it best to view all wrenching obstacles as opportunity for improvement!

GOOD! It's an opportunity and excuse to go through the top end and finally do all the stuff you've been thinking of doing.

Oh Shoot. I know it doesnt sound good but often the worst part of the job is thinking about it before hand. Once you get stuck in you may find that whatever the problem it's not as bad as it seemed at first. One good thing about these old bikes is that you can do quite a bit with the engine still in the frame.

I think I'm going to go out and buy a brand new bike, then I'll turn the KZ into a drag bike when the funds permit. I can't afford to miss another spring riding season.
