Wes, I believe that heads and their caps were line bored at manufacture, Thus can't be purchased seperatly. That said, If you check, there are no options for sizing for cam bearings. IE "one size fits all". Personally I would try a "wrong" cap before attempting welding, and plasti guage (from the bottom unless valves are out) I've no experiance, nor knowlege of anyone trying this.
