HELP! FLYWHEEL JAMMED ON TIGHT was created by bountyhunter
I am trying to change the stupid starter clutch on my 750 twin. I got the cover off and the 17mm reverse bolt out of the shaft. I am using the rear axle to try to pull the flywheel and IT WILL NOT BUDGE. I have tried putting a screwdriver in to turn it and tapping on it. I have tried tapping on the end of the shaft. NOTHING. I am afraid I am going to tear the threads off the end of the axle.
ANY TRICK TO GET THE SOB LOOSE?

its on there with a taper so if you canget some sort of a rod or heavier screw driver it should pop off if you give it a solid crack with a dead blow hammer if not you will have to get the right puller fromz1.

Thanks, I figured it out. The secret was to use two screwdrivers, one shoved into either side of the axle nut thru hole so I could get longer leverage and twist with both hands. It finally came loose, but that was one tight sucker.

if you every have to do it again get the puller they are pretty chaep and you will be able to use it on different bikes also you can smack it pretty hard with a deadblow hammer and that sucker will shoot right off.
