can someone please explain how to adjust my cam chain with my tensioner., I believe I hear a little bit of ticking from it

pull the ignition cover off and then using a 17mm wrench rotate the motor to the t mark on 1-4 then on your tensioner back off the lock nut and then back out the bolt then tighten down the bolt and tighten the lock nut put your cover back on the ignition and viola go for a ride it is that easy. every time i have explained how to do this there are all ways questions aboutwhy do you want the crank at the t mark on no 1-4 well its just so that you make sure that all the chain slack is at the back by the tensioner no other reason. one other thing never rotate the engine backwards always clockwise.

After loosening the locknut how many turns should you back out the main bolt for it to work it's magic? I'm always afraid I will go to far and hear all kinds of stuff falling down in the motor.

just back it off a bit if the cam chain is loose you will fell it spring forward a bit.maybe 2or three turns at most
