dropped rubbers into motors cases was created by odl666
I was tearing into my motor and accedently dropped two dampers form the pullies on the chain tensor. What do i need to do, Do i need to get them dampers out or is damage possible with them rattling in there. Thanks any help is appreciated

Take a coat hanger and sharpen the end.
Then you can stab them and pull them out.

Odie, If I recall correctly the top tensioner dampers had steel backs. And the 650 has a single row cam chain and starter drive. a poor situation, Get 'em out. start w/easiest , magnet on a stick & probing, then dropping trans pan and flushing w/ solvent. Even If I'm wrong and pads are'nt metal, the oil passages in the 650 uses "oil control orifices" bits of chewed up dampers could starve crank or cams. my 2 cents. G

drop your oil pan that will be the easiest way it should only take about twenty minuetes

i had that happen to my z1 and i didn't even know it the rubbers fell off because of not enough adhesive. after a ride or two i was fiddling around with the engine and decided to take the oil pan off and there they were in the pan. kinda a pain in the ass cleaning the gasket off pan if it a old gasket.but it didn't hurt the motor in my case to run it with the rubbers like that

excellent, did you end up taking the pan off or did you find another way.
