Put it on the center stand. Loosen the rear axle nut and brake caliper and use the adjuster nuts to move the wheel to the rear. The chain should have about 1 - 1.5" vertical play in the center.

On the center stand after loosening those items up, find the tightest spot in the chain and you should adjust the "Play" to be 1 to 1-1/4 from the tightest spot on the chain. Also this play is measured from the "Bottom Middle" of the chain travel. The Alignment marks on the swing arm chain are for reference, and aren't exactly perfect, so this is a good time to measure the distance from a stationary point, Center of the "Swing arm Pivot Bolt" to the Center of the "Rear Axle Bolt". Measure both sides and adjust to the same measurement value on each side and keeping 1 to 1-1/4 inch "Slack" in the "Bottom Middle" tightest point of the Chain, as this will give you better accuracy, as opposed to the "Alignment Marks" on the Swing arm. So Measure it left side and right side, Find the tightest spot in the Chain Travel as you spin it around by hand checking it from the Bottom Center of the Chain travel. When you find the tightest point, adjust from there.
