Crank and Rod bearing.. was created by Meekrat
Does anyone know where i can purchase main and rod bearings. My dealer is a bit on the clueless side and cannot match me up a part number.

The book only shows the size and a color code

Mains Brown .0587
Rods Green .0586

These sizes are what the shop measured the crank at. The color code is what the book matched it up to. I just need a source to buy them. Any ideas.

Any industrial bearing supplier should carry them. Bike makers don't get one off bearings they use readily available ones. I buy all my bearings from suppliers not dealers.

250/400/440/550/650/750 motors use plain bearings, in contrast to the roller bearings of the 900/1000/1100 motors, and I highly doubt that you be able to purchase bearings from anyplace other than Kawasaki.

I would check with the following suppliers of OEM parts.

Z1 Enterprises

Ron Ayers

Bike Bandit

Part numbers will be available at the parts diagrams for your particular year and model at www.buykawasaki.com
And it's best if you have the part numbers before contacting the above sites. You will probably have to call Z1, the phone number is on the web page, and Z1 will probably have the cheapest price.

Using Ron Ayers website I think I have found the part numbers that I need. Could someone please double check me before I spend money getting these items.

Main Bushings
Part Number 92028-1102 Brown 10 of them
Rod Bushings
Part Number 13034-050 Green 4 of them (in pairs)

I only found reference to a 82 KZ750E2/E3.
(I have a 83 KZ750N2). I am finding this color/(a/b/c)/number system for listing part numbers very confusing with these bushings.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

How do you know that the color matches the part number?

I found three part numbers for the rod bearings for a 1983 KZ750N at buykawasaki.com.
92028-1156
92028-1157
92028-1158

None of which match the number that you have.

I seriously suggest that you call Jeff at Z1 Enterprises and doublecheck all the part numbers with him.

Ph. 315 926-5054

That will probably be the cheapest place to get them anyway.

This is part of my confusion. BuyKawasaki.com list 2 different sets of part number for the rod bushings.

The 92028-**** numbers and
the 13034-*** numbers

just for the rod bushings...unless im not reading it correct.

as far as the color. The book I have has my sizes listed as color, using The BikeBandit.com(Not the Ron Ayers) website I was able to find the part numbers with the color in the description. BuyKawasaki.com does not reference the bushing with size or color. They just a/b/c them. My dealer has no clue what a/b/c means in terms of size.

:S im gonna need a big bottle of aleve before this is done....

Ok, I have run into this before with 750 twin bearings, Kawasaki sells individual bearing shells, 1 top and 1 bottom per rod (Crank bearings are the same way).
For the crank you have to order 10 bearing shells for five bearings, and for the rods 8 bearing shells for 4 rods.
After a closer examanation of the pic on buykawasaki.com. it looks like the bottom shells have different part numbers than the top, so you will need 1 ea 92028-XXXX and 1 ea 13034-XXXX per rod.

Not to repeat myself, but do call Jeff at Z1 :D
Then you won't need the Aleve :)
