Oil where the stator is. was created by SPR298
Just open the cover were the stator is and oil ran out all over the place. I guess I need a new crank seal for that side?

What kind of motorcycle? Some bikes have a bit of oil beneath the cover, some do not.

Hi SPR298,

My stator is on the left side of the engine as is my starter clutch (KZ900A4). This chamber is open to the crankcase, there is no seal.

It might help if you would post some info about your bike in your signature line.

Sounds perfectly normal to me. There is a little oil under that cover. Next time tip the bike a little and you will not have a big mess all over the floor.B)

That oil will lube the starter clutch and gears.
