I'm taking off the aluminum engine covers to polish. The cover behind the shifter with the tear drop access cover is obviously part of the clutch adjuster. The 12mm nut with the snap ring behind it doesen't spin easily and I feel like if I force it I will break something. What is the process for removing this part with out damaging it???? I know I need to buy a Clymer manual....but I'm trying to get this thing off tonight before I have to go back to work. :S

You don't have to remove it. Just remove the shifter the four bolts and the clutch cable. Roy
