750 twin engine not starting was created by 82_twin_KZ
I have an 82 kz750csr twin that will not start. I thought the ignition was bad so i converted back to the old point and condenser style ignition. i followed the service manual on how to set it up. i am pretty sure that i got it dead on. It will back fire but that is it. Could the cam timing be off? If anyone knows a lot about these twins please help me out.

thanks,
Paul

Check to see the points are opening at a crankshaft rotation point near the "T" mark. You can see it under the points cover. As stated above, it is possible to get the advancer assembly on 180 out.

Check for hot spark.

Check spark plugs to see if they have fuel on them.

Check compression.
