This is supposedly from an 83 GPZ, I was considering buying for the cams. I was looking at the picture and noticed it has what appears to be a tachometer gear and outlet, which was not on GPZs.

it looks like he might have the wrong picture up it looks to me like a 1000 head it has the top idler and peanut link cam sprockets also has slide type carb boots with vacuam ports not set up for cv carbs at all and a tach drive as well but you already saw that

I have to agree with TB that looks to be a head from a 900 or 1000. It is for sure not from a GPZ750 if it were it would use a hyvo type cam chain and not the roller setup you see. Also would not have a tach drive and the 750's don't use that type of cam hold down cap.

Can't see the link, but there were no aftermarket billets made for the GPZ J motors. We make an adapter sprocket that allows you to run earlier KZ cams in the GPZ. Those cams have a tach gear .

the thing that makes it look like a 1000 head is the 8mm exhaust studs unless they have been changed it does look like a nice clean useable head for a guy like me though.
