Missing 2 out of 4

Ive got a 81 gpz 1100 fuel injected. Leaving it sit overnite, the two outside cylinders dont fire on start up.
the plugs smell like fuel. Change plugs and the beast flashes right up. What a beautiful rumble when all are present. It will start fine all day. The next morning,same thing, only 2 and 3 are firing. Coils are new and blazing.
I put dynacoils on her.Can anyone advise me on this problem.

Are you running the stock sparkplug caps? How about the sparkplug wires? The coils and related ignition devices are in a high heat environment under the tank, I'd start by replacing the plug wires and caps and go from there. Also check the primary coil wiring,As I believe it has 1/4" slide on connectors that can work loose from vibration/heat-cool cycles.

the dynacoils came with its own wires and caps so they are new as well.
One point though, whenever i remove the plug cap while it is running and keep it just above the plug, the cylinder fires.
this happened with the old coils and the new ones. I found that very odd

My bike do that when i trailer them. I would try some spray silicone. Seems moisture condenses on the bike. Roy

Man your bike is talking to you. It's saying "I'm a nice bike, why don't you put a cover on me instead of leaving me exposed to the elements?"

What is voltage at #1/4 coil primary terminal? Supposed to match battery voltage.

Coils are brand new, getting a nice spark, the bike is always stored inside. Can you explain the condensation and to with of my problems it referes to. Im stumped as to why the plug fires if i remove the cap and hold it slightly above the plug

Since it seems to fire ok when you hold the cap off the plug, I would swap coils and see if the problem moves to the other 2 cylinders. If it does, this will isolate the problem to the coils /wires/or caps. Ed

Does bike have an oem ignition with igniter?

What is ohm rating of new Dyna coils, and does ohm rating match the old coils?
