1100J in a 1000J frame? was created by Spud
I recently pruchaced a 1981 1100 GPZ for $50 and was wondering if the engine will fit in my 1981 KZ1000LTD. Or will the top half of the 1100 fit on the bottom of the 1000. Both engines will have to be torn down so swaping jugs and heads not that big of a deal. I'm sure this was asked before, but its been awhile since I've bee here.

I'm not really familiar with the 1000LTD but if it is indeed a J frame as the title of your topic says the GPz engine will bolt right in.
Here's my 82 GPz 1100 engine in an 82 1000J frame to prove it, no mods needed whatsoever.

Thanks. It's a Vance & Hines stainless Supersport exhaust - came with the bike when I bought it so I have no real background info on it. And yeah, I could use a $ 50 bike too...
