Cam "whiz"

After doing some riding today, noticed a noise which appears to be coming from the valve cover on the left side of the engine. The noise sounds like a "whiz" ... almost like worn bearings sound like. The noise isnt all that loud, but is noticeable, and kinda worries me. I will take the valve cover off tomorrow.. what should I look for?
Thanks!
