Are the heads and/or intake cams of any of the ZX7s compatable with 650/750 KZs? I hear the carb spacing is slightly different but other than that they seem almost the same as the GPZ. And I've searched the hell out of it finding very little useful.
THANKS!!!!
I don't know the answer for sure but...isn't the ZX7 a liquid cooled engine? If so, even if everything lined up, how would you keep the head cool on an air cooled cylinder block with no coolent flow?
Also, the ZX7 may have a side mounted cam chain...lots of problems

I think he may be reffering to the Kawasaki ZR-7 and not the ZX-7. The ZR-7 motor looks to be nearly identical to the gpz/kz 750 engine.

That makes sense. Does look like they reused all the old engine tooling.

Yes I was refering to the ZR7 not ZX, my mistake. Thanks for corecting me without making me feel the fool. You guys are OK!!
The cams are identical for KZ750R1, KZ750N1/2, KZ700A, KZ750L3 AND ZR750C model (AKA 750 Zephyr). Later ZR750 models (F and H models) (post 2000 editions) have different part numbers.
Edit: Additional info...virtually all the KZ650 models shared cams and these were also the same as the ZX750E1/2 cams.
