MKll Engine Serial Number? was created by Jack
The frame number of my 79 MKll tells me it was made in Japan but I can't find what year the engine is from.Frame number is in the 39000 range but the engine is in the 80000's.Tried a couple of searches but most info. is frame/vin number.
79 KZ 1075 MKll
79 KZ 1500 MKll dragbike
Gone but not forgotten:
3 X 73 Z1's
1 X 74 Z1A
1 X 75 Z1B

From what I can gather all KZ1000A3 were made in Japan. Ser # range was:
Frame: KZT00A038430-042755
Engine: KZT00AE075474-081568

All KZ1000A3A were made in USA.
Ser # range was:
Frame: KZT00A519538-523550
Engine: KZT00AE081569-090730
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Thanks Ron.I've had several motors in this bike & knew it was not the original. BTW,where did you find the info? I looked at various sites and could only find frame #'s.

I found it on the parts microfiche card for the KZ1000. It's got quite a bit of good info on it.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
