Just bought this fixer upper...

I want the bike to be somewhat quiet and the pipe came with no baffles.

What should I do?

Buy new baffles? Where do I get them?

Replace with a low cost muffler from JC Whitney? Would this be as cost effective as a new baffle?

Any help would be appreciated...

I think its a Vance and Hines 4 to 1.. There is no telling.. The previous owner said he got it off a 1000...Went to the local salvage yard and came up with nothing that matched...

The bad thing is that its welded on and not clamped.. I will probably have to have a shop do the work and I think that will run up the bill....

4 into 1 Header with muffler
buy some new copper rings from z1enterprises can of wd40
and a 10$ socket set and get to work bro.

shops charge bucks, big bucks that's how they make their living
you i can guarantee will get great satisfaction from doing it yourself.

Hahahahahahaaha nice dig! Is it just too loud without a baffle? I have a kerker w a "race" baffle and it sounds great! If your going to go new, you can't go wrong w a kerker. If you want a quick fix, you could use some self tapping screws and some cheap steel strap and shove some steel wool in behind it. Doesn't look so good but it will quiet it down.

Just too loud... Gonna use it to tow a hack and my monkeys probably would not appreciate the noise.

I was hoping for someone to say "sure just go here for a baffle, it looks like it an xxxxxx pipe.. " Oh well, a new pipe and welding is probably in my future.... Another budget hit.

How about an angle shot of the end of the muffler? Baffles are still available for V&H and Kerkers. :)
