IMHO, those are the symptoms of a lean running condition from main jets. You might try a stock airbox as it will probably run better.

A lean condition can burn things in the engine, but I don't know if you burned a valve. I think you would have low compression on a cylinder if the valve was burned.

Yeah, either a stock airbox or bigger main jets would be my guess.

When you have it wide open and it will not rev anymore, try just alittle choke. If it runs better, install larger jets.
