Starter drags when idled correctly was created by abe75000
I have a starting issue with my 83 kz 750. When it is idled according to specs, starter drags, when i idle it down low say around 600rpm which I think is to low for proper engine lubrication. the starter does not drag when i use a 600 or lowere idle.. can anyone help me on this. starter is not at fault as i have tried the starter off of my other kz and it does the same thing. could it be the starter solonoid causing this? thanks for any help. bye

I would think to check the starter clutch assembly. I'm pretty sure the engine shouldnt drive the clutch at all if it is torqued/lubricated properly.
