i have always been under the impression that pods, k and n in particular, needed oil to function as designed.....i have seen info to the contrary...input?....not war mongering...just wondering the general consensus.....just ordered a set of k and n 's..........thanks as always......keith

I oil my k&ns. I thought that was the deal with k&ns lasting so long because you can clean and re oil them.

The oil is what catches the dirt. Without oil dirt will be ingested. K&N even with oil will let gobs of dirt flow into the engine, but without oil will be much worse.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

my dad had the k&n cleaner analzed at a lab years ago,save your money its same as 409! B)
