Removing Baffle on Jardine 4-to-2 was created by KZBobber
I ride a KZ1000 LTD with the stock Jardine 4-to-2 and am thinking about removing the baffles.
1. Has anyone done this and how does it sound?
2. Too loud once removed?
3. What is the easiest way to remove these baffles?
Thanks

Removed baffles from oem KZ900-B1 LDT (4>2) bell tip mufflers, and it was just too loud, a raunchy headache inducing loud :pinch:, not the good sounding loud as heard from an open 4>1 meg.
Riding buddies hated riding anywhere close behind me. Gave them a headache too.
Perhaps the later LTD model will sound more pleasurable running oem exhaust system without the oem baffles. But I doubt it.
We know you can't not try it , so please inform us your test results.
Good Luck!

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

The 76-80 900LTD and 1000LTD use the exact same pipes I believe. One screw on each muffler and the baffles pull right out if I remember right. It will be more obnoxious than a Harley at this point. I have a 900LTD that the previous owner drilled holes in the baffle and that was enough to render the pipes obnoxious. It's been 11 yrs since I even looked at my 900LTD so my memory may be flawed some, but not the noise. That sticks in my mind.

Out here, you would get pulled over before you could scratch your rear running straight pipes on the street.
