Valve Cover Dowels??? was created by shannonbeau
Does anyone know where I can get Valve Cover guide dowels for a 82 KZ1100.. I am getting ready to put the top end back together but I boogered up a dowel getting it out when I tore it apart. I have spent days scraping gaskets, a full day lapping valves, several times of cleaning, sand blasting and just good ol' elbow grease. Now I want to put it all back together so I can try and start it.
Please let me know if you know where I can find these guide dowels. New preferred.

Just got an 82 KZ 1100, working to fix it up as my first bike.

If you are referring to the dowl pins on the camcaps, then they are still available from Mother Kaw (Jeff @ Z1E can order them)...the valve cover itself shouldn't have any dowel pins

That's exactly what I am talking about. I'll get ahold of him. Thank you so much.

Sent a message to Z1enterprises.com asking about the Cam Cap dowels but haven't heard anything back yet. I really need this Dowel to put it back together. The wife's minivan blew the head gasket yesterday so I need something to ride back and forth to work now. She has my car and the Truck runs like crap.... Maybe I should have invested my time and money into the truck..... Naaahhhhh. this will be more fun.

Actually, you can make Rob's (Z1Eenterprise) life much easier and speed up the response time by supplying the Kawasaki part number...the flip side being, it is still going to take a week or two to get them (no one generally keeps knock pins in stock) as they will have to be ordered.

Actually, I just found them at Iowa City Motorsports just south of me. They are 2.63 each and they actually have them in stock. The guy said he doesn't think they have ever sold any but they have them there.
I'll send someone down to get the today or tomorrow.

Got the Dowel, needed some other parts and I ordered them all from Z1Enterprises... I tried the local dealer first, they were way too expensive. What is $8.50 each for some O=-Rings at dealership is $.90 cents on Z1enterprises.com... Jeff and Rob are the Bomb over there.
