Hi, Ok let me know what you think before I put fire in the hole. 1105 kit z2 cams, A home ported head, stump pulling gearing 42/14 on a old school 16in.wheel. Do you think it will work on a 1/8 mi. 660 ft.track? btw last yr. stock it went 7.90s with the same 16.in wheel but a 35th. gear. Please let me know on your thoughts of a 1105. good or bad!

1974 Z1 with a MKII And a 1105 big bore kit 10.5 to 1 comp. Andrews 2x cams ported head dyna s with green coils V&H sidewinder pipe airshifter 4in.over arm

it will work all right for you probably better and more consistent with an 18" rear wheel and a better choice of rubber as well but that gearing should be all right. when i used to run 1/8 mile with a bar and slick i would run 6.60's and 70's with the same gearing. at over 104 mile an hour. also over 3000' elevation.

It sounds like a bike you could have some plain and simple fun with. I think it will be low maintenance and hold it's own. Take your time and dial it in, then get busy..Good Luck!

Damn...first shift point will get there awful quick won't it? I only run a 15/35 with a rear 18x130 and can blow the tire off leaving at about 2500 rpm. Was going to try a 39 rear but didn't have enough chain. That gearing just sounds awful steep...let us know how it goes. That low gearing you better have a nice sticky tire.

1105 pistons in a KZ block with stock sleeves are pushing the sleeves awful thin.....

Just some food for thought....

What's your rear tire circumference?

Hi yall, Thanks for the opinions on the 1105. I lost part of my valve adj. tool so I ordered another one and hope to adjust the valves and start the engine this weekend.Larry the 16in. tire circumference is about 80in and the zx7 180 tire that I have been trying to use is about the same. I extended the stock arm 4in. and the 16in tire and wheel work just fine but the zx7 tire and wheel I still don't have room to off set it. Do any of you guys have a D&G or similar swing arm that you would give me mesurments off of so I could build one? I just don't have the 300 to 500 dollars to buy one. And racer54 last yr I had the same problem blowing the tire off. So the only way I could leave the line without spinning was slip the heck outta the clutch...And timebomb what arm and tire are you using? Thanks guys.... ps as soon as I learn to resize pics I will post a few

i have used both a zx-7 arm and a gs 1100 arm with a 3.5 inch spoked wheel and i got similar results with both.
