Iam new to this forum, Hello from ohio. I just aquired a 77 kz750 twin from my uncle and it runs but not past 3000 rpm. The points are brand new but i dont know if they are set right. any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

From the manual on my 79 KZ750 twin:
The point gap needs to be .012" - .016". Check timing with light: at idle, the timing mark and the "F" must align. At over 3000 RPM, the timing mark and the pair of lines align.
You should take the advancer mechanism off and clean and lube it, they are notorious for sticking.
