does anyone know if you could rebuild the starter clutch or were you can buy one.mine seems to slip when craking.it is a kz750 1979.any help would be great.

750 twin? I found the complete starter clutch on E-bay off a bike that had 9k miles. My 750 has 21k. Once I had the new clutch in hand I pulled mine. You need a flywheel puller and a new gasket for the side cover. Air tool help too!
Mine had a crushed spring that could have easily been replaced:
Here's a shot of using the rear axel to pull the flywheel:
If you are willing to have the bike down for a while just pull the clutch and have a look. Several users have just cleand it up and tightened the allen bolts and it was fixed.

I just bought a used one in perfect condition from Clint Pulliam at this address:

It was $60 for the entire clutch assembly including both starter sprockets and chain. I think it was a good deal for all that, considering the parts look like new. The parts look WAYYYY better than the crappy rusted looking ones I saw for sale on Fleabay last week.
