Exhaust upgrade for 93 PS KZ1000?

I've got a large dent in my left exhaust pipe. I don't think it is constricting the flow too much (mostly cosmetic) but I'm looking at replacing the exhaust and wanted to see what my power upgrade options were.

Are straight pipes worth a damn or do they screw with the flow?

Straight pipes may make more power if you also change jetting or carbs, cams and intake. On a stock engine all you are likely to get is less power and pissed off people everywhere you go. Spend some time searching the forum and you will find a bunch of threads about aftermarket exhaust systems and related mods. The right combo will make the bike, you and everybody in the county happy. The wrong combo can lead to frustration and ax murders.
