4-2 cross over exhaust

03 Mar 2006 19:34

I am thinking of switching to a 4-2 exhaust system from my current 4-1. I want more ground clearance, and I think they look better. I am wondering what the diffrence would be between the cross over and non cross over. Anyone have some pictures of their bikes with 4-2 cross over's ?

This is the hardest most sought after 4 into 2 header.

Don't know about any advantage of the crossover 4-2, but I just swapped my 4-1 for a stock 4-2, & I could not be happier. :)

which exhaust system is that?
do you have any info on it?

I just ordered a new old stock 81 kz 4-2 exhaust to replace my kerker 4-1 on my 1976 KZ1000. I also like the looks of the 4-2 better.

How do they sound with the factory headpipes compared to a 4 into 1?
My bike has a 4-1 header with an open pipe. It's very loud, I love it. I like the look of a pipe on each side though. Would it sound different with the factory headpipes and open pipes on each side? Still want loud, just one on each side.
Thanks,
Mike
