It is a willingness to take the chance to maybe f*ck (that better?)up something expensive, and try again![/color]

my own way of thinking, not to be confused with logic. LOL

Also, the oil level switch from a 1981 Yamaha XJ 550 looks identical to me, including the bullet connector. But I have no idea if it's interchangeable.

thanks for all the help guys, I finally found one on ebay, used for $32 shipped.
I also found a new one for $108
gotta love the ebay. I don't even care if it works, at least the hole will be plugged. LOL
I can always drill and tap for the stock one

Okay.

For others who are looking for something to plug the hole,
it sure looks like the Yammy part will work.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but there never was an answer to if the Yamaha part would work.

I just purchased a GPZ oil pan without the oil level sensor. I ended up buying the Yamaha part listed in this thread since I couldn't find a decently priced GPZ part.

The Yamaha part is interchangeable in case anyone else does a search in the forms.

I'm glad you resurrected this topic. Sometimes bringing back an old one is a good thing.
