Transmision Popping out of gear was created by Stevec6535

Whats up guys. I have a 1980 KZ750 H1. My Transmision pops out of 2nd gear during hard decelleration then pops back in as the bike slows down a little bit. What could be causing this? any advice would be great

the engagement dogs that are on the gears to lock them to gether when you shift

Sure, just get some forks and a shift drum for good measure, split the cases, install, re-assemble. Thats diving pretty deep into your engine, but I dont think it'd be too hard as long as you ahve a service manual.

U can drop the pan and look up into the trany . but to repair the dogs u need to split the cases and replcae the gears. the forks can be removed while the motor is together. at least on a KZ900/1000.

76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.

Try moving your shift lever up 1 tooth on the splines .

I'm not kidding , try it first , it's free ,,,,,,,
