Thanks for all the replys. Dumped the oil and cried, put in valvoline 20w-50 4 cyle motorcyle oil and put the pipes back on slowly, it sounds a hole lot better, think it was air leak. I do have one dumb question the book calls for 3.9qts and I put in 3 full ones and stoped at 8os on the fourth is this good? thanks again for all the help and happy riding. be safe patrick

Good grief! If I had to remove the pipes everytime I changed the oil I'd start looking for a better set of pipes. ////Do other folks have this problem with aftermarket pipes? Ed
YES.
When your kerkers block the pan's drain plug, you can get a different style plug with a hole and a little "valve" held in place with a snap clip. You release the clip, flip the lever out and the oil runs out.
Guess how I learned about those....

Haha airbox full of oil like I had that one day out on the highway?
Yup, just like when the ass end of my z1 900 was covered in oil after i put to much oil in it, it freeked me out until i figured out what i did wrong. And you can bet i won't do that again. Just like i always remember to put on the oil filler cap after the mishap i had when i had my buddy start the bike up after an oil change, i had a face full of 10w-40...lol
