Good grief! If I had to remove the pipes everytime I changed the oil I'd start looking for a better set of pipes. ////Do other folks have this problem with aftermarket pipes? Ed

YES.

When your kerkers block the pan's drain plug, you can get a different style plug with a hole and a little "valve" held in place with a snap clip. You release the clip, flip the lever out and the oil runs out.

Guess how I learned about those....

Yup, just like when the ass end of my z1 900 was covered in oil after i put to much oil in it, it freeked me out until i figured out what i did wrong. And you can bet i won't do that again. Just like i always remember to put on the oil filler cap after the mishap i had when i had my buddy start the bike up after an oil change, i had a face full of 10w-40...lol

dead empty like after an engine rebuild it should only take 3.7 liters after an filter change it sould only take 3.5 liters max there is a oil capacity embossed in the engine cases right next to the filler plg and it says 3700cc which is the same as 3.7 liters.

I've been using Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 in my KZ650C1 for the past couple years and found that it works great. No problems with leaks, clutch, or anything else, and I honestly believe my bike runs smoother since I switched to it although intellectually I find that difficult to understand. I encourage you to try it and see what you think. Ed
