The above pictures where taken after a trip to the car wash and a good de-greasing. Typical old nasty cylinders, corrosion, dirt, and engine grime. I used a few differnt tools to clean them that worked very well. To start I used a .45 cal brass rifle cleaning brush in a cordless drill to get most of the corrosin off. Then I switched to a nipple brush (for cleaning bottles) that I cut the handle off of and used in the drill. I also used a rod form the rifle cleanning kit push the brass brush between the cylinders. After I brushed off all the corrosion and dirt I used Black Magic mag wheel cleaner. It's the ammonia in the cleaner that does the work. I did try a 10% cleaning solution with ammonia but the fumes where AWFUL! After a few rinses with the mag wheel cleaner this was the result. Not too bad. Now off the the machine shop.

Wow, they came out awesome. I just finished cleaning mine (never came out anywhere close to yours). There was a load of baked on mud that was murder to get off.
