Hey Brothers!!! What year engines can i interchange with on my 77Kz1000 with out having to modify much of the frame??

Gettin alot of tickin from the top end. I would like to rebuild cause i dont know what the engine has been threw. Any idea on what the price is to rebuild verses buyin a new one?

depends on what it needs and how much you can do yourself,if it was me id find a good motor with good compression and sell the motor you have to wireman!but i might be just a little bit biased:whistle: goodluck,happy wrenching!

I'LL keep that in mind bro.Do you know where they sell the ol police bikes or engines at? Like a police auction where they get ride of their ol stuff.

I think the 81 KZ1000P (Police) used the original 1000 motor, I believe the cop bikes got the J motor in 82.
