the pipe and collars get installed as a unit B)
the split collars wrap around the pipe in same direction you have them ,use rubber bands to hold them on the pipe when you install it.

Thanks wireman! I've got her back together, though leaking like mad. Still need to order some new gaskets. At least the paint job worked!

those pipes fit up inside the motor? i bought the vance and hines, i havnt installed them yet, still working on the motor, but i did hold up the header to thee exhaust holes. and they arnt going inside the motor unless i grind off the flanges on the header. should they just butt up to it, or fit inside the motor some?

dynasty- if you look at the photo I attached earlier, IMG_03471.JPG you'll see I have the two collars stuck inside, they are pressing against the copper gasket there. Doing it the correct way, the actual pipe should press against those gaskets, which are recessed in about 1 1/2".
