I installed my cams today and stripped  one bolt on the exhaust cam. How I fixed it is drilled and taped it for a 7mm bolt then torqued all the bolts to 95 in pounds. What do you guys think is that enough torque Im afraid to go much more.
Thanks
Tom

The KZ650 manual calls for 95 - 113 inch pounds (it uses 6mm bolts) so I would think you're ok. How did you strip the one bolt? Ed

I was just putting the cams in and was using my torque wrench and that one bolt never stoped turning. They all came out kinda hard, hard to get turning but once they moved seemed allright. My 1000 uses 6mm bolt also.

A 6x1.0 bolt doesn't require much. I never use a torque wrench on them. Just gotta have a feel for torque I guess. Just a little snug will do fine. Never seen one problem from it either. Good you were able to fix it. I've heard of guys using a 1/4 20 bolt instead. I always time sert my stripped bolt holes. Nice to have steel threads in aluminum.
