GPZ1100 head on a 77 KZ1000 was created by addycml
Would anyone help me that:
Dose a GPZ1100 head possible put on a 1977 KZ1000?
If yes, any advantage for it?
Since I want to modify up my 77 KZ1000 engine, just woder which head is for my best choice?

first off what are you doing with this bike what year is the head and how big are you going to go with this motor is it going to be raced or street driven let us start there first then we can get a better idea of what advice to give.

I hope I can have following modify for at hot street bike 1977 KZ1000.
Mild cams, +1mm valves with spring kit, mild port work, 1075 or 1200 big bore kit (depend on budget), let the crank checked and welded, under cut gear.

if that is what you have in mind then i would stay with the kz head the gpz has alot bigger combustion chamber and it will drop your compression by quite a bit also the kz rods are 1 mm longer than the gpz rods you have to put a 1mm spacer under the block so the pistons wont hit the head it can be quite a involved procedure if you were racing with a big block and needed the extra flow from the gpz's bigger ports and valves i'd say go for it but since your on the street stick with the kz head you can get it to work very well with the combo your talking about. what year is the gpz head because if it is an 83or84 it is worth a few bucks to the right guy and you could put that back into your project.
