Hey all...
My son just dropped off his 77 KZ650 and I'm wondering whether I should part it out on Ebay or try and fix it up. I'm riding a Vulcan but the KZ650 was the first street bike I owned so I'm kinda drawn to fix it up. The starter doesn't work and I can't get the motor started. My son said it was blowing major oil before it it stopped working.
I don't really have the time to rebuild the motor so I'm the first step would be to get a motor for it. I'm not all about getting the exact same parts for the bike I just want to get the thing running and looking presentable.
I'm in South Carolina so if anyone know a good salvage yard or a place where I can get parts please let me know. Also if anyone could give me a good idea as to what other motors would work on the bike I'd appreciate it.
So generally I'm looking for any good advice on where to start with this project bike.
