www.americanclassix.com sells fittings and www.holley.com/index.asp?division=Earls sells the Earls brand of competition plumbing oil coolers and SS lines.

Im almost sure that you have a j. The way I understand it any 1000 or 1100 after 81 is a J.

You may not have a 'J' model bike, but Tom is correct, you do have a 'J' style motor.

I had forgotten Earls have the oil coolers in a curved configuration these days. Could help with some fender clearance if the suspension stroke is completely used.

Just remember when finding a mount location that nothing touches when the suspension is fully compressed.

I have mine (Stock Zephyr cooler with AN fittings attached) just millimeters below the lower triple tree when turned at full steering lockout. Just recently kissed the fender. Not enough to cause damage just provide a paint transfer. :)

The curved units may afford an opportunity to provide clearance of a large cooler. Also depending on your climate you could place a thermostat in line to keep the motor warm in the cold.

I am thinking of using the stock ones off of a KZ550, or maybe a really small earls radiator.

Those are pretty small aren't they?
