Well, I guess some of us just can't get it right? Some us dumbies might want to sit in a bleach box and heat the tire in second or third.

I have seen it done in Z's before, they had no problems. I ask alot of questions that are different then most, it exspans my line of thinking. Like they say, it takes all kinds to make the world go round. Saxjonz I would ask you, do you ever like to drop it in second and pop the clutch. You know, just a good long burn-out down the street. Thats what I call dyno tuning............

all off my bikes have the detent balls removed because the bike has to be rolling in order to get it into second so i take it out as a precaution just in case the bike stalls for what ever reason or i have to shut it down in the burnout box most tracks wont let you go ahead then back up in to the burnout box so it is easier for me .the only bike that still has them in is my street bike and it only because i forgot which trannie i put in until it was too late [first test ride after motor install] or else it would be done as well.

no it has never been an issue as for it going from second to third it would have to rotate the shift drum way to far for that to happen it was just a safty feature put in at the factory just like rim locks where supposed to keep the massive torque that these bikes make stock:silly: from turning the tire on the rim.

Tranny cut... I get the basics of it especially for racing bikes but is there any real benefit for an everyday ride?

Tim:
All you did was just leave the detent balls out? No other mods required?

yes that is all you have to do to it very easy mod.and mark i like the undercut trans because the undercutting just seems to engage the gear quicker if your riding aggressively on the street you can get a road race cut as well that one undercuts both sides of the dogs to help with down shifts as well as upshifts.
