Yes... but really only if you plan on drag-racing, or riding very hard on the street.

The gate stops the oil flowing to the back of the pan under hard acceleration (and away from the oil pump pickup). This was a cheap and effective way to stop the oil light coming.

yes it really works i do it to all of my performance motorsit keeps the oil where you need it most under hard launches and when you pull the odd wheelie.

Oil Pan Gate, Kawasaki KZ900-1000-J - MTC

This oil pan gate is installed in the oil pan and prevents the air from moving away from the oil pump pickup with accelerating. If your oil light comes on when you are accelerating or doing a wheelie, this is what you need! Oil pan removal is required, so get a new oil filter and a oil pan gasket to complete the job.

An amazing fix that has been used for over 30 years!

so i would guess that it wouldnt be detrimental for normal street riding and would add that little bit of insurance trying to smoke "the flip flop sport-bike squids" and wheelie practicing in the process?....thanks for the input.....keith....flip flop
