Short Pipes

Today I cut my pipes, and they were cut just a few inches beofore they go into the exhaust collector. Does this cause any adverse effect to the engine? Will I need to re-jet the carbs? Does this sucker sound sweet with out muffs....?

yes you will need to rejet. Many people will tell you that this was a bad idea. I have removed baffles on all of my bikes and the sound always seems to put a smile on my face:) My neighbors all like it too. They wave everytime i ride by, but for some reason they are only waving with one finger:huh: . I dont understand it, but i just wave right back with the same finger:P

what size jets did you use when you cut your exhaust? What will happen if I dont rejet?

It all depends on the bike and carbs you are running. on my 750 with bs34 carbs i am using 140/70 jets. If you don't rejet it will run lean. I didn't rejet for a while and you could definately tell the differece after i rejetted. Also the spark plugs didn't look so good before i rejetted.

Well this is a 1100 and it's running the Muks....So i really dont know...if that what it needs or not.

Also, where do i get jets at....If you can point me to that direction...

sudco if you want to go direct or most legit bike shops will have the main jets in there collections

Are you using pods? Oldbikebarn, Z1, bike bandit...because sudco doesn't seem to have a online store to buy thier stuff.
