Help identifying my engine was created by EdRock
Hello all, this is my first post on your forum. B)

I bought a custom bike recently which is powered by a KZ440 engine. I'd like to get the service manual so I can adjust my own valves and what not but I am unsure of the year of the engine or what manual to purchase.

Number on the engine: KZ440AE 021966

I could take some photos if the number isn't enough.

Hi Ed, welcome aboard.

Can't help you much since I don't know a lot about the 400s/440s, but I know someone who do, may I suggest you check this place out:

KZ400.com

Odd Ivar, who founded KZ400.com, was also a very active member on KZR before he passed away way too early, and several of our members here are also active over there.

And photos are always welcome.

Oh, and here is a direct link to some great info on KZ440 maintenance:

Ed - The Kaw factory service manual for the 440 is also available in the downloads section of our web forum - you must be a member of the forum to download but there are a couple dozen manuals so far.
