Pardon my REALLY dirty bike, but here are the 3 parts you'll be concerned with. I see you already popped her off, but maybe this will help someone in the future.

Wow, I took apart the clutch release assembly, cleaned it and checked the balls and splines, greased it, put it back together. Putting that unit back together was an exercise, I think I discovered a new way of doing it. 
I bought a cable luber and spray can from Z1, but I think the plastic bag for lubing is the way to go for cables.
I'll be careful with the routing of the cable when I put it back together.
