Camshaft chain tensioner bolt was created by restless
Hello kz riders, I'm trying to finish up a valve job on a '80 kz750e and I can't find the original lock bolt can any one tell me how long a bolt I need to replace it?

Welcome to KZr restless.
I believe that bolt is a 6x22, but I could be wrong.
The Kawasaki.com site doesn't list the true bolt size.
My suggestion would be to start with perhaps a 6x25 bolt, and then add a nut (or maybe 2?) to lock the bolt in place once you've set the proper tension.

Is it this the bolt......the one sticking up ? In the cam chain tensioner.
I took it out and measured it at 6 x 30mm so anything thereabouts or a tad longer should work.

Doesn't really matter how long the bolt is as long as it can catch the shaft inside and have enough room on the outside where you can install a locknut.
The bolt itself is 6mm with 1.0 pitch thread... very standard size and the same pitch as most all other 6mm bolts on any Kawasaki.
