Not sure if the same is true on the KZ1000, but the KZ650 FSM does NOT call for locking agent on cam caps. It does call for it on the cam chain guide sprocket bolts. I use the Loctite Blue on my cam chain guide sprocket bolts.

Loctite on the spockets to the cam is ok, no need to loctite the camcaps because they have constant pressure from the camshafts that keep them from possibly loosening. I've never heard of one coming loose in any engine.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

The Blue Loctite #242 is removable with hand tools and resists vibration. It's the Red #222 you want to stay away from. It requires about 400F to loosen up and is considered permante.

the red will break loose with air tools usally but stay with the blue and yes make sure you loctite the cam sprocket bolts it will save you a motor down the road ,speaking from experiance use my problems as a learning tool.

The man asked about the bolts that hold the cam caps. These should never be loctited. It is OK to loctite the bolts that hold the sprockets but that isn't what he wants to know. The cam cap thread where the bolts go strips too easily as it is. I would also consider using less torque on them than is called for in the factory service manual or just put inserts in from the get-go and be done with it.
