hey is there a way to turn over the kz1100 ltd by hand to see if it is froze up or not it is an 84 b-1 zn1100

Two ways of doing this:
Remove the four sparkplugs,remove the CD sized cover on the right side of the engine(the old point cover) and take a 17MM wrench rotate the engine to the right. If resistance is felt, then further investigation is needed.

The other way is to remove the left side engine case(the alternator side) and turn the engine over using the bolt holding the alternator rotor(again with the plugs out). This might require a new gasket for that side as the old one may tear/leak later.

If u suspect a hard time use the left side.Right side bolt is easy to break.B)

he aint kidding i finally broke one and was bummin...see my recent thread on replacing crank end sheer pins....i really was not turning that hard(i've turned harder in the past and not snapped one)good luck...

All good posts, an addition.if seisure/dropped valve is suspect, kick starter na, elevate rear wheel/plugs out/p/u cover off /2nd gear, attempt to rotate rear wheel for-aft. G
