Stuck tappet was created by guavatone
I have 3 stuck tappets. I remember the method being to use compressed air or a magnet to remove them. These won't even turn. I am trying to push 140lbs of air with my hand covering the intake holes while fitting the air nozzle between my fingers. Still not budging. Is there anthing else I cn try? heat? I also soaked them in PB for a week.

Thanks in Advance.

I like the site's facelift. I havn't been here in a couple of years.

what kind of head is it?if it is a shim under style head soak it real good find a socket slightly smaller then the tappet with an extension try banging on socket and extension with a hammer, this should force it down into bore against the valve spring which in turn should force it back up into the bore might have to try a couple times to work it loose.if its shim over 900-1000 style remove the shim before trying this! goodluck, happy wrenching

Well, i got them. I did see a few tiny shavings of Aluminum though. I have a bad habit of muscling stuff and breaking bolts. Do you think a few flakes are serious? At least t=it isnt a high compression zone.

Thanks
