1976-KZ900 Motor fit 1977kz1000 frame was created by 1977kz
I would like to know if a 1976-kz900 motor will fit a 1977kz 1000 frame with no mods.???

Yes - one minor difference is the exhaust stud diameter. The 900 uses 6mm studs, the 1000 8mm studs

header is same ,just use z1- 76 exhuast collars to match the studs if you have them

you can use the 1000 exhaust flanges, the hole is a little too large, so you'll need to use a slightly larger washer under the nut.
900 flanges are a better fit - so use those if you have them

Thanks for info. I found a 1976 kz900 motor with a 1075 kit,welded crank and back cut trans also hot cams for 250.00. What do think?

The 900 motors have a lighter cranks, so that motor will rev VERY quick. Not so much torque as you are used to, but it will pull hard and quick to the red-line...

I have a 76 1105 motor in a 78 frame. No problems as mentioned, just use the 76 exhaust collars on the pipes
