J, rubber rollers were originally round.regardless of wear are by now hard.replace them...as well as the chicklets which locate idler gears. also cam chain if over 1/2 of rec. manual wear. also, inspect starter clutch pinoin and rollers.... 650's were notorious hard starters, and starter clutches the 1st to fail.indeed, i would rec. anyone this deep to inspect /replace any starter clutch componants that show ANY wear. luck g

Here are a couple threads about 650 cam chain parts. I think the consensus was that the 900/1000 rollers are the same, despite having different part numbers. But please read it for yourself and decide. Ask Onkelb as he did most of the investigation. If they are the same parts then Jeff at Z1Enterprises has parts listed under the 900 area that may be workable on a 650.

the idler gears can be reused if the bearings and pins are in good shape but definitly change out the rubber idlers and the little rubber blocks holding them in place
