From what I've read the kaw. factory tool (57001-110) seems to be prefered to the motion pro tool. But where do I get one? Between Myself, Dad, and my friend we have 5 kz1000 bikes (4 J models, 1 1980). I'm sure I'm not alone in neglecting the valve aspect of these engines. Time to get with the program. Anything that makes it easier will help. Any suggestions on where to get the factory tool?

Check Ebay. There's another post about this too and how to make your own. Check this post (I know there are easier ways: 1000 shims)

Here's one of my old posts - look on the bottom of the page for the (easy!) tools that I made with two sticks of high-carbon, a mapp torch, and a grinder.

The batwing works fine, but not as quick and easy as the "factory" tool shown in Sandy's post.
Here's a prior thread with some helpful batwing info > Ask and ye shall receive
Z1E usually has these readily available, but at the moment shows temporarily out of stock. Here's the listing > Motion Pro batwing tool
Good Luck!
