there is always gonna be a slight hp differance, but you can buy 2 brand new zx12s and get 2 differant hp numbers also .id say go with what you like ,looks are the biggest factor for most people buying a header!

Besides the 'looks' and 'sound' factors, it is unfortunate that availability also becomes an issue. If you have 900/1000/1100, availability is less of a problem, however, smaller cc bikes are beginning to be limited on which brands are still around. Many manufacturers have either discontinued making pipes for older KZ's or only manufacture for their (perceived) most popular styles. For example, you can still buy 'old school' new Kerkers and V&H, but only for certain Kawasakis and not small fours or twins. Hookers, Yoshi's, etc. are gone but MAC's are still available. Bottom line being, you may love Hookers (no pun intended), but (except for the unusual eBay find) you'll have to run MAC's based on availability.

I have always used MAC cuz they are cheap and pretty good quality. I don't like the look of the muffler and always replace them. I have a mac header and a muffler from a zx6 ninja on my bike now. It sounds good and looks pretty cool.

Kerkers were generally the replacement pipe of choice for the 650. Dennis Kirk has new kerkers for the 650. There is nothing like that sound!
